I need help with bumpy skin
Keratosis pilaris (KP) is a common and generally harmless skin condition characterized by the appearance of small, rough, red or flesh-colored bumps on the skin. It is sometimes referred to as "chicken skin" due to the texture of the bumps. The condition primarily affects areas where hair follicles are present, such as the upper arms, thighs, buttocks, and sometimes the face.
Key characteristics of keratosis pilaris include:
- Bumps: Small, rough bumps that may be red, white, or skin-colored.
- Texture: The texture is often described as "sandpaper-like" or resembling goosebumps.
- Location: Common areas affected include the upper arms, thighs, buttocks, and face (cheeks).
